David Chaum
David Lee Chaum (born 1955) is the inventor of many cryptographic protocols, as well as ecash and DigiCash.〔Greenberg, Andy (2012). Chaum gained a doctorate in computer science and business administration from the University of California, Berkeley in 1982.〔David Lee Chaum. ''Forbes''.〕 Also that year, he founded the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR), which currently organizes academic conferences in cryptography research.〔Blanchette, Jean-François (2012). ISBN 026230080X.〕 Subsequently, he taught at the New York University Graduate School of Business Administration and at the University of California. Chaum received the Information Technology European Award for 1995.
